Edwards on VP and other thoughts News | Edwards rejects a Kerry-Edwards ticket
So Senator Edwards says he has no interest in being on someone else's ticket. Hmm - My take on that is that he's portraying himself as a potential winner, and any "yeah, I'd take the VP slot" would present an image as him not being able to win this thing. Ironically, the image of winnability means quite a bit to D's voting in primaries. That's why people don't vote for Dennis the Menace. They like him, and he gets low single digits. But coming out of Iowa, Kerry looked like he could win, and people felt comfortable voting for him, especially as for the anybody-but-Dean crowd.
