Must-read
The Onion | Massachusetts Supreme Court Orders All Citizens To Gay Marry
The Onion is usually pretty good for some laughs, but every now and again, an article comes along that is pure-classic. This is one such article. Now it's only a matter of time before Christians are emailing this to each other as though it were actually true.

Time to write your representatives!
Contact Senator Wyden: http://wyden.senate.gov/contact.html
Contact Senator Smith: http://gsmith.senate.gov/webform.htm
... and ask them to oppose the Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage.

Another story on Sec. Paige
CNN.com - Education chief's 'terrorist' remark ignites fury - Feb. 24, 2004
And this is the email I just sent the President:
President Bush should hold Secretary Paige responsible for calling our nations teachers terrorists. President Bush should fire him today.

Not firing Secretary Paige would tell the country that:
1. The Administration is incapable of determining who the real terrorists are in this important historical time, and
2. That the Administration simply labels political opponants "terrorists" in an attempt to win debates on policy.

Bushies putting satirists out of work
USATODAY.com - Education chief calls teachers union 'terrorist organization'
These people are some of the most vile and disgusting filth I have ever watched. (Bushies, not teachers!)
Terrorism is a political act. It is committing an act of violence with the motive of striking fear in a larger group for political gain. A terrorist is someone who commits acts of terrorism. By definition, it's far more apropos to label the Bush Administration terrorists than the (as far as I know) non-violent teachers union. The Bush Administration has scored many political points by keeping Americans as scared as possible. That's their favorite method of keeping their poll numbers up.

Movie stuff
the Hollywood Stock Exchange
Okay, so I'm a wee bit down about the Nader news, so I've been laying off politics for a few days. A man needs a break from time to time. else you start to lose it in cynicism entirely.

So on to this interesting piece of web fluff - the Hollywood Stock exchange. See, we were watching Firefly on DVD (the cancellation of which guaruntees Rupert Murdoch gets to burn in his gods' special little hell) and I go online to check the latest news on the probable upcoming Firefly movie (shiney!) and I come accross mention of this site wherein I can purchase "stock" in the Firefly project (or Donald fucking Sutherland if I choose). I have not actually gotten kickin' on this trading business yet, but it looks like it could be amusing.

Update: tell them catphile sent you, and I get a huge bonus of H$
